The Walt Disney Company has reached a new milestone at the box office. Disney has become the second studio to pass $4 billion at the worldwide box office, just behind Universal, which reached the mark just last week.
Leading Disney to this milestone was Pixar’s Toy Story 5, which is currently sitting at $1.09 billion. The Devil Wears Prada 2 from Disney’s 20th Century Studios also ended up being a financial hit, grossing over $690 million. Pixar’s Hoppers at $390 million, The Mandalorian and Grogu at $345 million, and the live-action Moana at $281 million. Rounding out the rest of the films to help reach the milestone so far are Send Help, Psycho Killer, In the Blink of an Eye, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, and Super Troopers 3, which just hit theaters.
Disney 2026 Box Office Rest of Year
The studio is not finished at all and will likely end up being the highest-grossing studio by year’s end. Disney has been the highest-grossing studio 9 out of the last 10 years. Disney will round out the year with The Dog Stars, Whalefall, Wild Horse Nine, Hexed, Behemoth!, and, of course, Avengers: Doomsday. A majority of these upcoming films will be highlighted in detail at Disney’s D23 Expo this weekend.
As for the aforementioned Universal, they have had quite a 2026 themselves. The iconic studio is the only studio in Hollywood to currently have 3 films gross a billion worldwide in 2026 with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie from Illumination, the Michael Jackson biopic Michael, and The Odyssey, which is still doing well in theaters as of this report. Rounding out their 2026 box office hits are the surprise horror Obsession and Illumination’s Monsters and Minions.
Universal plans to give Disney a run for the money the rest of 2026 with The Forgotten Island, Other Mommy, Focker-In-Law, and Violent Night 2. It is safe to say Doomsday alone will outgross all these movies but the Disney 2026 box office looks bright in general.
