AMC FearFest is one of the most exciting times for a horror fan out there. The long-running cable TV programming block during October and Halloween season is the reason a lot of us out there started loving horror. Yes, it might be the TV versions of the films, but there’s not a whole lot of things that are more nostalgic than catching your favorite slasher on AMC. The programming block is coming back for 2026 with new programming and even features the Crypt Keeper from Tales From The Crypt. Check out the newest advertisement below.

They’ll be running FearFest all month long with plenty of movies and TV from their vault. This new teaser doesn’t show everything that’ll be during the month, but you can expect plenty of your favorite horror movies like:

It also appears that they’ll be showing episodes of Tales From The Crypt during the month, which is a first. AMC owns Shudder, which is the streaming home of the show.

Watching Horror On TV Was A Gateway For Most
We have plenty of nostalgia for video stores and classic Halloween decorations but there’s a lot to feel about when you were a kid and those Halloween promos started on TV. I already wrote about ABC Family/Freeform’s 31 Nights Of Halloween earlier this Fright-A-Thon season, but AMC FearFest is the next evolution of that. I’ve previously written about how Horror Movies On TV Are A Gateway.
Here’s what I had to say about things like AMC FearFest:
Peacock, Shudder, Hulu, Netflix, and other streaming services routinely tout their horror offerings during the month of October. For me, Shudder always has the best library of horror, but Peacock had a great selection of classic 80s horror. Shows like The Last Drive-In and Dr. Elvira on Netflix have brought back that classic TV feeling for a new age. You might get the uncut, full versions of films on streaming, but with the way they schedule things, it still feels like that old “must-see TV”.
It’s still exciting when AMC releases their Fear Fest schedule. I always try to get a view in for at least that first day and just leave it running in the background. For some of you, this still might be the best way to watch these movies for the first time. So take a moment, put that boutique label Blu-ray down for a minute, and grab the remote again.
I always try to watch at least the opening of FearFest whenever I can because it feels so damn nostalgic and signals the coming Halloween season.
