‘Crystal Lake’ – New Trailer Points To Some Friday The 13th Changes And Intrigue

The highly anticipated Peacock series, Crystal Lake is finally coming out soon this Halloween season, and the full trailer for the series has dropped from A24 and Peacock. Check out the trailer below.

The new trailer shows off plenty about the series including Pamela Voorhees in her classic sweater from the first Friday the 13th film and the moment that Jason drowned. Or did he? That’s really the mystery at the center of the upcoming series. There’s also a tease at the end of the trailer that Pamela and Jason might not be exactly who we thought they were.

If you don’t know about Crystal Lake, here’s a description from A24 and Peacock:

A prequel to the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise, the series follows single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?

It’s all set to a version of “Don’t Fear the Reaper” by Blue Öyster Cult (hey! a connection between Halloween and Friday the 13th!).

All episodes of Crystal Lake premiere on Peacock on October 15th, 2026. It was created, written, and EP’ed by Brad Caleb Kane with Kane, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox, and Roy Lee as executive producers. Michael Lennox directed the first three episodes with Celine Held and Logan George directing episodes 4-6, and finally Quyen Tran directing the final two.

Crystal Lake stars Linda Cardellini, William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. It also features Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik.

The Story Behind Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake is the first long-form media from Friday the 13th since a deal was struck between Sean S. Cunningham, Victor Miller, and the Barsamian family. The first project was the short film Sweet Revenge from last year. Crystal Lake originally started off very differently. It was originally showran and created by Bryan Fuller, but due to creative differences, he left the project and was replaced by Brad Caleb Kane, who changed the whole series up.

The Jason Universe also had a Halloween Horror Nights house on both coasts at Universal Studios last year. Finally, the first two episodes of Crystal Lake will make their premiere at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles, CA on October 2nd.
