Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group has one of the most diverse and varied catalogs of Halloween entertainment in the world. They took the stage at Midsummer Scream 2026 to talk about their Southern California-ish Halloween events like Festival Fright Nights at the Winchester Mystery House, Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns, and Delusion. Their panel is always a highlight every year at Midsummer Scream and this year was no different.
Festival Fright Nights At The Winchester Mystery House Kicks It Off
Thirteenth Floor’s newest event was Festival Fright Nights last year. They took over the Winchester Mystery House and gave it a spooky update for the season. This year, they’re adding even more like new characters and some experiences for guests to enjoy. Two of the new characters include the Butler, who’s been taking care of the house even after Sarah Winchester passed away and Nina Nightshade. The new story is set in 1926 with a new festival format for guests to go through the story and into the depths of the haunted house.
New attractions include Hide and Seek: The Lost Children and Seance Speakeasy which bring guests to areas of the house that are not normally open or available.
Following that series of announcements, they moved to Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns, which is coming back to the South Coast Botanic Garden with over 10,000 light up pumpkins. This event is great for families or a date night where you’re trying to cleanse your spooky palate in the middle of Halloween season. They have new attractions like a giant bounce pad, and more food and drink options for guests.
Delusion: Den Of The Mosquito Looks Like The Most Interactive Version Of The Event
Delusion didn’t go over too much that they didn’t hit in their press release about the event that came out last week, but they did show us a great trailer for the event going over the story. They also dropped some details about the pace of the attraction with guests going through in groups of ten every ten minutes as opposed to the groups of ten every five minutes that we had with the event last year.
Director/writer Jon Braver seemed noticeably excited about talking about this edition of the event. So hopefully that excitement translates to an event that’s as good or better than previous iterations. Last year’s event was fantastic and this new one sounds amazing.
Los Angeles Haunted Hayride Beefs Up Almost Everything
Fallen Angel is the newest maze at Los Angeles Haunted Hayride and looks to replace Monae Manor at the event. The story tells about a band that had a final, deadly rehearsal, that was recorded. That recording brings the dead back to life and a bunch of teenagers are breaking into the old recording studio in town, which kicks off the maze.
Outside of that, Elvira’s Trick Or Treat and Hellbilly Halloween are both back for the 2026 season. Both are getting some updates and new scares. Joining those two returning mazes is Mayor Monte Revolta and his band. They’ll be playing every single night of the event with a full band. Monte Revolta joined the panelists on stage to talk about the event and we’re also getting more details about why Midnight Falls is stuck on Halloween Night 1985 with the updated Madame Aurora’s Seance Theater attraction.
Finally, the actual Hayride is getting some upgrades in scares and new scenes for guests to go through. They’re also selling alcohol at the Hayride for the very first time, so guests can get some drinks to go with the scares.
Los Angeles Haunted Hayride runs from September 18th-November 1st on select nights.
