Two of the most beloved Nicolas Cage classics, Con Air and National Treasure, are heading to 4K Steelbook this November. The two iconic films are heading to 4K UHD for the very first time. They’ll both be available on November 10th, with the digital release happening the same day.
Con Air, directed by Simon West and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, is packed with memorable one-liners, exhilarating stunts and an incomparable ensemble cast, including John Malkovich, John Cusack, Steve Buscemi and Dave Chappelle. The R-rated action classic earned two Academy Award® nominations and remains a hallmark of ’90s blockbuster cinema.
Seven years later, action-adventure took a historical turn with National Treasure, also produced by Bruckheimer and directed by John Turteltaub. Cage stars as Benjamin Franklin Gates, a determined historian and cryptologist racing against rivals to decipher a hidden map on the back of the Declaration of Independence. Balancing age-old puzzles with intense chase scenes, the beloved film, which carries a PG rating, continues to excite audiences across generations.

This is a momentous occasion for physical media fans because both of these movies have been locked away on Blu-ray and in the case of Con Air, out of print. Now, people will be able to watch these movies in the best possible quality. For fans of Nicolas Cage, this isn’t the only film of his that’s coming to 4K though. A previous report states that we’ll also be getting The Rock and some other Disney/Fox classics to the format. According to the report, we’re not only getting Commando on 4K UHD but also Strange Days and The Rock on 4K.
