THS’s Take On The Film
As the current crop of movies in theaters circle around issues of technology, artificial intelligence, and their place alongside humanity , this movie will present a worthy entry in that conversation. It’s hard not to feel for General Ortega’s glossy eyed heroine as she’s just trying to make the family’s life better. We all have our own bouts with obsolescence, and it’s finality.
Heading into an uncertain future, Who doesn’t have thoughts about their own mortality. Is the next generation going to lap us in some way? What will happen to my loved ones as I age? By placing this movie into such heady questioning without feeling overwrought, waititi has struck a winning note from these first moments we’ve seen.
