Get ready to go back to Jump Street. Deadline is reporting that 24 Jump Street is in the works from Sony Pictures. Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube are all in talks to return for the third film in the comedy/action franchise. Rodney Rothman will direct the film and co-wrote the script with Jonah Hill and Meghan Malloy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are also returning as producers after directing the first two films in 2012 with 21 Jump Street and in 2014 with 22 Jump Street.
Where is 23 Jump Street? That’s gotta be a joke somewhere in the movie. Sony has been trying to get a third film off the ground for over a decade with a script for a scrapped 23 Jump Street being labeled as one of the best that Channing Tatum has ever read.
As for plot details or other cast members, we don’t have any news on that at this time.
We’ll keep you updated on this story as the news develops.
The THS Take – Great News For Jump Street Fans

I’m a gigantic fan of the first two films in the Jump Street series. They’re comedies that hold up insanely well, even today. They’ll make any generation laugh out loud. The two films are kind of a lost breed in Hollywood today, a mid-budget comedy film that went on to make a bunch of money at the box office.
It remains to be seen how they’ll explain where 23 Jump Street went. They’ll also have plenty of real-life events to work with in the film after skewering the shift from jocks to nerds and the rise of political correctness that they did in the first film. The 23 Jump Street script that ended up scrapped after tons of Sony emails were leaked was supposed to be a crossover with the Men In Black franchise.
That still sounds super cool, and it’s weird enough to work. After all, there were plenty of reservations being had after the first film was announced and it blew away expectations.
