Brittany Snow Joins the Cast of ‘The Housemaid’s Secret’

More casting information about the highly-anticipated sequel to 2025’s The Housemaid, which has grossed $400 million and became a global phenomenon. Now, Brittany Snow, the star of Lionsgate Television’s hit series The Hunting Wives, has joined the cast of Lionsgate’s upcoming feature film The Housemaid’s Secret, opposite Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst, and Paul Anthony Kelly. Snow will play the role of Marybeth, an unassuming receptionist whose exterior hides darker secrets.

This casting announcement comes after Kelly was announced last month as Douglas, the shady husband of Mrs. Garrick (Dunst). Additionally, Michele Morrone will also return to star as Enzo, reprising his role from the first film.

Lionsgate identified and optioned Freida McFadden’s literary trilogy (plus a fourth entry, a short story) early on, long before the books became New York Times bestsellers, recognizing the series’ massive potential. With The Housemaid’s Secret set to enter production later this year, the studio anticipates adapting even more of McFadden’s beloved thrillers from the world of The Housemaid in the years ahead. Screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine, who adapted the first book, will also return to write The Housemaid’s Secret. Carly Elter, who oversaw the first movie for Hidden Pictures, is returning as executive producer. Alex Young of Hidden Pictures will also executive produce. Honey Trap’s Kaylee McGregor will co-produce.

Snow’s credits include films such as John Tucker Must Die, Hairspray, the timeless Pitch Perfect trilogy. Her involvement in this film is sure to be perfect casting, and it will be interesting to see what she does with the role of Marybeth.

About The Housemaid’s Secret

In The Housemaid’s Secret, Millie (Sweeney) returns, taking a job keeping house for Mrs. Garrick (Dunst), a woman she’s never allowed to see, and her husband in their penthouse in the city. Millie quickly becomes suspicious of Mrs. Garrick’s husband, Douglas (Kelly). However, she quickly discovers the truth behind locked doors that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own, and ones she is not prepared for.

Douglas is a reclusive and seemingly controlling tech CEO who does not let Millie see his wife. The suspicions this awake in Millie lead to her theory that Douglas is doing something sinister to Mrs. Garrick behind closed doors.

 The film will open on 12/17/27 in wide release.
