Studio Ghibli has created tons of fan-favorites. And, now you can see them on the big screen again. Studio Ghibli Fest 2026 is coming this summer. We’ve got a list of when these amazing anime features return to the silver screen.
Goro Miyazaki’s Tales from Earthsea is a part of the celebration. But, the 20th Anniversaary f the Ghibli Fest has plenty to offer. Isao Takahata co-founded the studio, and his Only Yesterday also celebrates 35 years. Castle in the Sky’s 40th Anniversary also counts down to 40 years since release too. Spirited Away is the big closing extravangza for this one too.

What does this festival do?
According to GKids: “Studio Ghibli Fest is a year-long celebration of Studio Ghibli’s catalog returning to cinemas nationwide. The Studio Ghibli Fest 2026 lineup kicks off this June with Ponyo as one of many timeless classics from the legendary Studio Ghibli.
“Other highlights in the 2026 lineup include several special anniversary celebrations, such as Goro Miyazaki’s feature directorial debut, Tales from Earthsea which joins the Ghibli Fest lineup for the first time for its 20th anniversary, and Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata’s feature Only Yesterday commemorating its 35th Anniversary.”
“Rounding out the all-star lineup, Castle in the Sky celebrates its 40th Anniversary, and esteemed director Hayao Miyazaki’s Academy Award®-winning feature Spirited Away 25th Anniversary closes the 2026 series.”
