Watch The First Trailer For Julia Jackman's Queer Fairytale '100 Nights Of Hero'

Based on Isabel Greenberg’s 2016 graphic novel The One Hundred Nights of Hero, Julia Jackman’s queer adaptation 100 Nights of Hero is set to exclusively hit theaters this December. The film stars Emma Corrin and Maika Monroe, alongside Nicholas Galitzine, Amir El-Masry, Charli XCX, Richard E. Grant, and Felicity Jones.

An official selection for the Venice International Film Festival Critics’ Week and the BFI London Film Festival Closing Night, the film is being praised for its originality and its heart. Queer identity also plays a major role in Jackman’s take on the tale.

The graphic novel featured a woman who marries a prince with a penchant for killing his brides. In order to extend her own life, she must tell stories. In Jackman’s adaptation, the story gets a twist. Rather than following a bride, it follows a maid who attempts to protect a young bride from her fate by telling her a series of stories.

The film also features original music by Charli XCX.
