Percy Jackson and the Olympians teases big sacrifices in the upcoming episodes
Rick Riordan’s third Percy Jackson novel finally gets a faithful adaptation on Disney+! Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 just gave fans their best look at the action yet. On social media, Hulu and Disney+ welcome fans back into this fantastic world. But, it’s going to be tough sledding for Walker Scobell and the supporting cast in Season 3. It turns out The Titan’s Curse is more than just the name of that book.
Scobell’s demigod is trying to save Annabeth and Artemis from an army led by Atlas and Kronos. Luckily for him, the kid’s made of some tough stuff. But, the emotional investment in this series really cannot be understated for this fanbase. There’s a lot of viewers out there that have waited their entire lives to see this section of the story get it’s moment on-screen. Check out the new trailer right here!
Disney+ & Hulu are thrilled with the response
Fans are more invested than they’ve ever been. Scobell knows that the central relationship with Annabeth is a concern for people out there. He talked to D23 about that thread for Percy Jackson in the new season. Here’s what the star had to say:
“It’s similar to how Grover’s disappearance affected him [in Season 2]. There’s not a question in his mind: ‘Let’s go get her back,’” Scobell explained. “My favorite part about playing Percy is that every single time one of these things happens, there is rarely a moment where it seems impossible, because that just doesn’t cross his mind. All he’s thinking about is getting her back, so it’s really fun to play it like, ‘Oh, she’s gone? Time to go get her back.’ There is no question in his mind.”
What is this season about?
Season 3 marks the first time that “The Titan’s Curse,” the third book from Rick Riordan’s bestselling series, will be adapted for the screen. If Percy Jackson learned anything after completing two epic quests with Annabeth Chase, it’s that he would be lost without her. So when Annabeth is captured by the forces of Kronos, Percy must embark on a perilous journey to rescue her.
He must free a goddess in chains, confront the Titan’s curse, and avoid triggering the fall of Olympus. With Grover by his side, Percy must join some unlikely questmates to confront a prophecy with dire consequences.
