Years before Harry Bosch became the relentless detective who lived by the code “Everybody counts, or nobody counts,” he was a 26-year-old rookie learning how to survive the streets and the LAPD. MGM+ has released the first images from Bosch: Start of Watch, offering a new look at Cameron Monaghan as the younger version of Michael Connelly’s iconic character.
Set in 1992 Los Angeles, the prequel follows Bosch during his early days in uniform as the city struggles with racial tension, gang violence, and growing civil unrest. Omari Hardwick stars alongside Monaghan as veteran officer Eli Bridges, Bosch’s training officer. The eight-episode series premieres January 10, 2027, with two episodes on MGM+, followed by weekly installments through February 21.
