A Massive Crossover Event
Disney links back up with one of the biggest music stars on the face of the planet for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. Taylor Swift revealed her new song attached to the movie this week. There are three different versions and you can bet that this one is going to pull at your heartstrings.
Taylor Swift’s New Song
Taylor Swift shook the Internet this week by announcing her new song from Toy Story 5. “I Knew It, I Knew You” is ostensibly a Jessie song. But, it’s more than that for fans of the artist. Disney knows that they’ve managed to get two of the biggest artists on the face of the planet attached to this movie. (That would be Bad Bunny and Swift for those playing at home!)
The new song from the pop superstar has the CDs available on store.taylorswift.com for a limited time. As with a lot of her albums, the disc itself is a collector’s item. But, you’re also getting Side B photos too. There are three different variants for fans to choose from. So, if you’re interested, you need to get in there!

Toy Story 5 Feeling Like An Event
As the marketing continues to ramp-up, the Pixar entry is gaining some serious steam. TS billboards appeared in some major American cities. Then, things kicked into overdrive when Swift posted a Toy Story-themed countdown on her official site. As with most things in her orbit, that turned into fans trying to decipher what it could all mean. Now, they have their answer!
It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable.
“The song is so deeply connected to ‘Toy Story,'” Stanton added. “So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”
What’s Toy Story 5 About?
Pixar’s got a description for us. “The toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 5, and this time it’s Toy meets Tech. Woody (voice of Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (voice of Tim Allen), Jessie (voice of Joan Cusack) and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad (voice of Greta Lee), a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Will playtime ever be the same?
Toy Story 5 is directed by Academy Award® winner Andrew Stanton, co-directed by Kenna Harris, produced by Lindsey Collins, p.g.a., and written by Stanton and Harris from a story by Stanton. The film features an original score by Oscar® winner Randy Newman, who returns to score his fifth “Toy Story” feature.
Toy Story 5” is rated PG and releases exclusively in theaters June 19, 2026.
