‘The Vampire Lestat’ Hits Hall H at SDCC to Promote ‘One Night Only LIVE’

With a week to go until this year’s San Diego Comic Con, the announcements have begun pouring in with gusto. One of the biggest–and most anticipated among fans–is the change of venue for The Vampire Lestat. When promoting the newly reimagined season at SDCC last year, the show gained a lot of traction, but still was modest comparatively.

Now, this year, it has been announced that highlights from the electrifying premiere event The Vampire Lestat: One Night Only LIVE, the performance celebrating AMC’s premiere of its newly-released The Vampire Lestat at New York City’s iconic Beacon Theatre last month, will be screened for fans in Hall H at Comic Con International on Friday, July 24. The special features original songs from series composer Daniel Hart and performed by Sam Reid.

AMC has now also announced that the special will make its streaming debut on AMC+ on Sunday, August 23.

About The Vampire Lestat and the One Night Only LIVE special

Following the screening, cast and executive producers from The Vampire Lestat will take the Hall H stage for the first time to reflect on the series’ jaw-dropping season finale, premiering Sunday, July 19 on AMC and AMC+. Last year at SDCC, The Vampire Lestat was in Ballroom 20, a noticeably smaller venue. The jump up to Hall H is very significant.

Officially Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a perfect 100% critical score, The Vampire Lestat follows Lestat (Reid) on an electric multi-city tour while he’s haunted by “muses” from his wild and rebellious past. As his band’s popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population.

The Vampire Lestat and the previous two seasons of Interview with the Vampire are currently streaming on AMC+.

This announcement has ignited talks among fans about the fate of the show, whose finale is this coming Sunday. No renewal announcement has been made by AMC at this time. However, many fans see the move to Hall H as promising, and rumors have begun flying because of it. At this moment, though, the fate is uncertain, but what is not uncertain is how much fun this panel will be.
