There are tons of entries on Universal Orlando’s 2026 Events and Experiences schedule that await eager parkgoers throughout the year. However, this summer will now be adding a very special entry to that roster, in honor of Universal’s Epic Universe. The third gate resort, not too long after its first year anniversary, is finally getting something every proper theme park needs: a closing time spectacular.
What’s more, this summer’s addition to the sights and sounds of the Universal Orlando Resort landscape is pretty unique, as it takes advantage of the very heart of Epic Universe. So let’s take a look together at the joy known as the “Universal Celestial Goodnight.”

Epic Universe’s First ‘Nighttime Spectacular’ Is Ready To Turn Up The Lights
Today’s announcement comes directly from a press release out of Universal Orlando. With a name that’s so fitting you can practically see it, Epic Universe’s “Universal Celestial Goodnight” show is now on the table to debut over the summer. And yes, your assumptions on the venue for this huge undertaking are quite correct – as you’ll see in this piece of the synopsis:
Running nightly beginning Tuesday, July 7, the must-see show will envelop all of Celestial Park into a captivating display of dancing fountains, breathtaking lighting effects, and a spectacular fireworks finale that will illuminate the nighttime sky.
Universal’s unique nightcap appears to be the best of both worlds when it comes to a “nighttime spectacular.” Yes, there will be fireworks, but “Universal Celestial Goodnight” also has a huge show component that makes Epic Universe’s central gathering place its own gigantic set-piece.
This Celestial event sounds like it falls into a similar bucket as Universal Studios Florida’s “CineSational A Symphonic Spectacular.” While there will be fireworks present, the dancing fountains and drones that weave their way through the press material clearly indicate that this attraction isn’t leaning too heavily on the pyrotechnics. (A good thing, considering that these shows would be running around the same time. Provided the pattern of their respective parks closing at the same time is the normal move.)
Looking deeper into the details on hand, I think Universal Epic Universe is about to give its guests something really special with this upcoming show option. And the fact that every section of the park will feature prominently throughout “Universal Celestial Goodnight” is just the start.

Celestial Goodnight Could Be Universal’s Most Immersive Nighttime Show
As “CineSational” celebrates the iconography of Universal and DreamWorks’ filmography, and Islands of Adventure’s “Hogwarts Forever” zeroes in on the Harry Potter legacy, Epic Universe’s offering celebrates the park itself. Intending to highlight each section of its campus, “Universal Celestial Goodnight” celebrates the park you’ve just been roaming around all day.
From a storytelling perspective, that’s basically a living, breathing “The End” title card folks will see unfold before them. And the good people visiting Universal Epic Universe just might be able to get up close and personal with this entertainment option. At least, that’s what I’m imagining after reviewing these additional details:
With nearly 600 synchronized light fixtures, over 350 larger-than-life fountains, and seven million LED lights embedded throughout Celestial Park, guests will watch as every inch of the vibrant world from Luna to Apollo glistens with meticulous choreography set to a high-energy musical score – all culminating with jaw-dropping fireworks that will serve as an epic farewell after an action-packed day at the park.
Unless there’s something I’m missing here, it appears that “Universal Celestial Goodnight” will play out in Celestial Park’s confines, with an explosive finale in the air. We’ll have to wait a little longer to see how exactly this plays out, as this Universal Epic Universe coda won’t start running until July 7th. In the meantime, don’t forget to keep refreshing THS Theme Park news for all of the latest and greatest in pop culture happenings.
