Paramount Brings Back A Classic
Clueless is coming back as a TV show. Alicia Silverstone is confirmed to return as share in the new series. Entertainment Weekly reports that the revival made the jump to Paramount+ from Peacock. We’ve got a bunch of new details about the new plot. Also, how Silverstone will figure into this and so much more. Check it out down below!
Clueless TV Revival On The Way
Paramount+ is bringing back Cher in a brand new Clueless TV series. Entertainment Weekly reports that Alicia Silverstone is set to return as the iconic character from the 1995 comedy classic. And, there’s a lot of the original talent getting involved with this revival effort. We’ve seen our fair share of nostalgic reboots and reimaginings over the last couple years and this one seems strong!
First off, it’s a bit of serendipity to see Clueless back at Paramount. After all, the studio originally debuted the first movie. Cher Horowitz is a fashion icon and a lot of older fans will be tuning in for the fits alone. Original director Amy Heckerling is also joining Clueless as a producer this time around. The new show is scheduled to begin filming in 2027.

Is Anyone Else Coming Along For The Ride?
One of the biggest questions hovering around A project like this is getting the entire cast back together. At the time of writing we don’t know if Stacey Dash, Elisa Donovan, Breckin Meyer, Jeremy Sisto, Wallace Shawn, Donald Faison, or Paul Rudd will be making an appearance. And sadly, Brittany Murphy is no longer with us so that’s a bummer.
However, With Silverstone aboard, it may give the production a chance to make a enticing pitch to get a lot of these familiar faces back into the fold. We’re just gonna have to wait and see to find out.
What’s The New Show About?
Picking up 30 years after the original film, beloved Beverly Hills icon Cher Horowitz has figured out a lot. She’s successful in business and has mastered motherhood – that is, until her daughter’s high school years, and Cher finds that parenting a teenager makes her feel ‘clueless’ all over again.
THS’s Take On The Revival
In honesty, this new Clueless pitch sounds like one we can get behind. A lot of these modern reboots or re imaginings falter because they try to recapture the feeling of the original article without strong ties to what came before. By having Silverstone in the fold from the word go, use short circuit that argument before we even get off the ground.
And, as we mentioned up above, having the original director is a feather in the show’s cap as well. In the modern media landscape, nostalgia is still doing numbers. People can yell about wanting original stories on social media all they want, but the box office receipts and ratings tell a more complicated story. Clueless, at it’s core, is an adaptation anyway. And one that will put that nostalgia to good use. If Paul Rudd comes back, that photo will melt the Internet.
