Evil Dead Burn held a special preview screening at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles, and the first reactions soon poured in with the utmost enthusiasm one would expect from fans of horror and the long-running franchise. The film is the sixth installment of the popular horror franchise, and if these first social reactions are any indication, horror fans are continuing to eat very well in 2026.
What Are The First Reactions Saying?

The first reactions to Evil Dead Burn call it a gnarly, nasty piece of work that is right at home within the popular horror IP. Many of the reactions suggest that the film isn’t afraid to “go there” and that director Sébastien Vaniček, best known for his 2023 horror movie Infested, was the right choice to continue the direction that Evil Dead has been headed in since the 2013 remake.
It’s relentless, gory, and has moments that made even the most dedicated horror fans wince. Other reactions point to the film’s dark humor, which runs in lockstep with the horror, and the dedication of the film’s cast, who seem all in on selling the Evil Dead mayhem. If the visceral and gory direction of its predecessor, Evil Dead Rise, was your jam, Evil Dead Burn apparently doesn’t disappoint. All signs point to Evil Dead Burn continuing the success of the previous film, which grossed $147 million globally on a $19 million budget and became the highest-grossing film of the franchise to date.
