The truthstorian rides again, but this time, some of Lee Raybon’s trouble is coming from inside the family.
FX has released the official trailer for The Lowdown Season 2, sending Ethan Hawke’s citizen journalist into another dangerous Tulsa conspiracy. Lee’s latest investigation appears to involve multiple murders, a mysterious new client played by Betty Gilpin, and corruption that could reach all the way to the top. However, the new case may not be Lee’s only problem. Oscar-winner Tommy Lee Jones joins the series as Lee’s estranged father, whose unexpected return threatens to disrupt the life his son has built. Judging by their tense exchanges in the trailer, Lee’s talent for finding trouble may run in the family.
Created by Reservation Dogs co-creator Sterlin Harjo, The Lowdown returns with a two-episode premiere on October 14 on FX and will be available through Hulu. About Season 2
Lee lives and works in a rare books store tucked in the heart of Tulsa – a local refuge and unofficial community hub. While Lee’s no idealist, he’s fiercely committed to exposing corruption and unearthing the city’s hidden rot, even when it puts him at risk. As the season begins, Lee’s recent story on the life and untimely death of Dale Washberg (as seen in season one) earns him a local citizen journalist award. Unable to process things going well for a change, Lee self-medicates and, unsurprisingly, makes a less than stellar showing at the ceremony. But his wildly unfiltered speech grabs the attention of beautiful and brash public defender Ginger (Gilpin), herself a crusader for truth.
