Hasbro needs to take a bow for even coming up with the idea of Transformers: The Movie’s “apology tour.” Making amends for 40 years of traumatizing children with the death of Optimus Prime, the toy titans have pulled out the stops with anniversary screenings and new Transformers merchandise to commemorate the event.
However, we’re approaching San Diego Comic Con, the nerd mecca which demands that even icons break out the big guns. That’s exactly what Hasbro is doing this year, with not only con exclusive collectibles your wallet is going to cry over, but a musical event that has both the touch and the power!
Get Ready To Rock Out At A Celebration Of Life Concert
The occasion, named in the official press release as The Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary Celebration of Life Concert has a name so massive, it’s practically worthy of a Prime. Promising musical delights that rock so hard you’ll feel like you’re holding the Matrix of Leadership, it’s exactly what Optimus himself would want for his loyal fans.
So who’s celebrating life with Autobots and Decepticons alike? You check out the official concert flyer to find that information, and more:

You can currently purchase tickets (via Universe), with both General Admission for $53.50 and VIP Packages available at $105.50. If you’re ready to splurge, that premium offering includes access to a private party starting at 6 PM, early concert merch shopping, and a gift bag full of goodies. Oh, and you get some of the best seats in the house too. After all, this is a concert!
If you want to get a taste of what to expect, both from The Reformatted Edition soundtrack and the Knights of Unicron, never fear. They’ve dropped this music video for their rendition of the 1986 classic’s theme tune:
As if that wasn’t enough to bring fans to the door, singer Stan Bush will be on hand to perform The Transformers: The Movie’s iconic single “The Touch,” because would it really be a celebration of life without the man himself? Other special guests will include the film’s composer Vince DiCola, Jem and the Holograms’ singing voice Britta Phillips, and the G.I. Joe inspired band Cold Slither.

The Transformers: The Movie’s San Diego Comic Con Merch Is Truly Outrageous
In addition to The Transformers: The Movie’s big rock show, there are some San Diego Comic Con exclusive pieces ready to step up to your shelf. As you can see with the first piece above, Britta Phillips’ appearance at The Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary Celebration of Life Concert isn’t just for fun and games.
That beautiful Jem and the Holograms crossover piece you’re looking at gives the iconic cartoon band more than meets the eye. Selling at the price point of $49.99, it’s an undeniable treat that brings back the obscure corner of Transformers lore known as Kiss Players.
For the more traditionally minded fan, get ready for a transformation within a transformation! Coming in at $74.99, the Transformers Optimus Prime & Jazz Cereal Box Set is a throwback to those glorious Saturday mornings where animation and sugar ruled the day. Packaged like a cereal, the actual product is a pair of figures for – who else – Optimus and Jazz.

July’s big showcase for all things geek is closer than you may think. San Diego Comic Con 2026 will run between July 23 – 26, with Preview Night set for July 22nd.
