Ranking The Halloween Horror Nights Houses By Excitement Level

Halloween Horror Nights 2026 finally unveiled its full lineup with two attractions getting announced at Midsummer Scream 2026 during their panel. The full lineup includes: Hellraiser, Stranger Things 5, Killceanera: Music By Slash, Evil Dead Burn, Dead Deader Deadest, Sinners, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness, and Terror Tram: Starring Art The Clown. Now, before those final two announcements, I was a bit lukewarm on the event as a whole for 2026. Those final two with the Terror Tram and Killceanera bumped up my excitement quite a bit. So let’s jump in and see what the most exciting houses are for Horror Nights 2026.

9. Killer Klowns From Outer Space

This has to be a pretty stacked year for this to be the least excited I am about a haunted house at Horror Nights. I was stoked the first time they brought it back because I didn’t actually get to go through this house in 2019 when I went for my first time. Bringing it back for the third time should excite mega-fans of this property and people who haven’t experienced this house yet, but I’m simply excited about this one, not hyped through the roof like others.

8. Evil Dead Burn

The previous haunted house based on the Evil Dead series, Evil Dead Rise, was one of my favorite houses that they’ve ever put on at Hollywood. This time around, this is more about the movie that the house is based on. I’m just a bit dubious about a haunted house based on this movie. There are certainly some good set pieces in the film that could lend itself to an entertaining haunted house, but there’s just a lot of moving pieces. The one-er scene in the film is easily the highlight and that’s not something that can really be done at Horror Nights. We’ll have to see though, this one could surprise me.

7. Stranger Things 5

This one comes down to the fact that Stranger Things 4 at Horror Nights 2023 was a bit of a disappointment. There’s also the fact that Stranger Things 5 wasn’t the scariest of the seasons. There are certainly some cool things they could do from a haunted house aspect; I’m thinking of walking into a room with a giant Mind Flayer, but this season was more action-focused than the previous ones. For that reason, it comes in right here, but I’m willing to be surprised by this.

6. Dead, Deader, Deadest

The original houses at Horror Nights are always a bit of a treat because we get so many IP based ones in Hollywood. So when the creative team gets to flex their muscles a bit, its always interesting to see what they come up with. From the looks of it, this tells the story of an embalming fluid that brings the dead back to life with horrifying results. We haven’t had a funeral home-type house in a long time. It also feels like we might be getting a bit of inspiration from something like Re-Animator with this one, so here’s hoping it scares the hell out of us.

5. Terror Tram Starring Art The Clown

This was the attraction that jumped up the most because of the theming and announcement at Midsummer Scream 2026. Let’s face it, the Terror Tram is a nice way to stretch your legs, get some small scares, and maybe see some cool theming. At this point, since it returned, it’s been a bit tired with Blumhouse taking over for three years. This was a massive step up and a great way to bring that Terrifier fervor that last year’s event saw to an attraction that PUMPS people through. Terrifier saw wait times of over 3 hours last year at the peak. This should not see wait times that long. That inherently is a win for Horror Nights. After hearing about what they have planned for this, I have no reservations about it being great.

4. Ozzy Osbourne: Prince Of Darkness

Halloween Horror Nights has been on FIRE lately with the musical-themed houses. Out of respect for the Ozzman, this house is right up my alley. He’s a metal icon, a rock god, and a cultural figure of importance. Even if you don’t like heavy metal music, you know Ozzy. The man was a legend. The only thing that remains to be seen about this house is how many great songs we get from his catalog and what they look like. I can only imagine what John Murdy and his team are going to do with “Crazy Train”, so we’ll have to see when the event opens.

3. Killceanera: Music By Slash

Slash usually does the music for the Universal Monsters houses at Horror Nights, but this time around he’s giving it a more Latin vibe with Killceanera: Music By Slash. This was announced during their panel at Midsummer Scream 2026 and from the sound of it, it’s a spiritual successor to the Latin Monsters trilogy of houses from years past. We’re getting a story about a girl who’s been wronged, sicking the various Latin legends on those that have done her dirty. That already sounds awesome, but we’re also getting new music from Slash and a Horror Nights first with music with lyrics accompanying it. I’m already in.

2. Sinners

Sinners was the best movie of 2025. And now its becoming a haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights. There’s plenty of ways this could go, but Creative Director John Murdy has already teased that there’s a section of this house that has the most performers that a Horror Nights house has ever had. So between vampires jumping out at you, and hopefully one yelling “SHAMMMY” at you, this one is easily among the most hyped I’ve been for a house at Horror Nights.

1. Hellraiser

This one is quite simple. Hellraiser is a horror classic. Pinhead and the Cenobites are icons. We’ve never had them at Horror Nights before. So when a dream property meets Horror Nights for the first time, we get hyped. They showed off a bit of what Pinhead looks like from the maze already, but if they knock the other Cenobites, this could be an all-timer. It’s based on the first three movies from the series (the best ones, but Hellraiser: Bloodlines I can be swayed). So, yeah, this is the most exciting haunted house for the upcoming event.
