Comedian Phil Medina is back in his home state of California for three dates. Originally from the Central Valley, Medina had a great story of how he got into Stand Up fit for a comedian.
Medina is in Southern California for the following three dates:
• July 11 – The Laugh Factory, Hollywood
• July 12 – Stand Up Comedy Club
• July 13 – Levity Live Oxnard, one of the venue’s final shows before the legendary club permanently closes its doors.
Getting To Know Phil Medina
With Phil Medina’s next few dates in So Cal, I spoke with him about his rise in comedy. Specifically being that he is originally from the same town where I currently live. He shares with me the story of an altercation that took place at a park that changed his career path forever, and how he got his first stand up gig. Both of those places he talks about are just blocks from my house. We also ended up fanboying for a good part of the conversation about our love for wrestling. It was a phenomenal chat that you can check out below!
About Phil Medina
Originally from Madera, California, Phil has performed at iconic venues including The Ice House, The Laugh Factory, and The Hollywood Improv. His work has appeared on Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Tubi, and he was selected to perform at the prestigious Netflix Is A Joke Festival.
What makes Phil such a great interview isn’t just that he’s funny—it’s that his story is completely unexpected. He’s the comedian who never planned on becoming a comedian, doesn’t spend his free time watching stand-up specials, and somehow built a national career simply by being himself.
