The Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuing with Avengers: Doomsday releasing later this year. We just had Spider-Man: Brand New Day come out in theaters and break records. After that, we have movies with the X-Men, that they announced at D23.

X-Men is directed by Jake Schreier, who directed the excellent Thunderbolts* for Marvel Studios. Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo are working on the script alongside him. As for the older cast of X-Men,we might see their last stand in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen’s Xavier and Magneto are in the film, but we don’t yet know their role in the grand scheme of things.

Avengers: Doomsday releases in theaters on December 18th, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars releases in theaters on December 18th, 2027.
