AMC’s September Highlights Include New Seasons of ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City,’ ‘The Creep Tapes’ and More

AMC and Shudder have a packed September schedule, and the highlights are all below. Shows like AMC+’s The Walking Dead: Dead City and Shudder’s The Creep Tapes both have their season three premiering this fall. There is plenty to plan your schedule by, with platforms like HIDIVE, Sundance Now, and Acorn TV also releasing their programming schedules. And, of course, All Reality is listing new releases such as its anticipated age gap reality show Age Inappropriate.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 (AMC Original Series): In season three, Maggie (Lauren Cohan)and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) finally put aside their differences to build the first thriving community in Manhattan since the apocalypse, but when chaos in the city begins to arise, they are forced to question: have they learned from their old wounds or will their dark past spell doom for the entire city?  Also starring Jimmi SimpsonRaúl CastilloAimee Garcia, Logan Kim and Michael Emery.

  • Mārama (Shudder Exclusive Film) New Film Premieres Friday, September 11: Rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes,Mārama is centered on a young Māori woman who discovers her horrific colonial heritage after travelling to Victorian England in 1859. She soon becomes compelled to confront and destroy the titled Englishman who devastated her family.
  • The Creep Tapes Season 3 (Shudder Original Series) Two-Episode Premiere Tuesday, September 15: From writers and executive producers Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice, season threecontinues to expose a collection of video tapes from the secret vault of the world’s deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer (Duplass). Unfortunately, as the tape rolls, the killer’s questionable intentions surface with his increasingly odd behavior and the victims will learn they may have made a deadly mistake.   Guest stars including Kate Siegel (Carrie), Nic Hamilton (IT), Elliott Fullam (Terrifier 2, Terrifier 3)and Duplass’ daughter, Ora Duplass (Coven Academy)who will star in a throwback episode.
  • Goody Goody (Shudder Original Film) New Film Premieres Friday, September 18: Lulled into a necessary sense of comfort during a long home birth process, expecting parents Samantha Robinson (The Love Witch) and Colby Hollman (Fear the Walking Dead) and their midwife (Colleen FoyStation 19) begin to realize something may be horribly wrong. A blizzard rages outside, trapping the family in their home as increasingly sinister complications arise.
  • Bloody Tennis (Shudder Original Film) New Film Premieres Friday, September 25: Centered in the world of elite sports to disturbing new extremes. After being admitted to an elite tennis academy hidden deep in Southern Europe, Sophie (Sandra Guldberg Kampp) must contend not only with the fierce brutality of her teammates, but with the school’s increasingly sinister undercurrents, where competitive sports are taken to their painful limits and only the hungriest survive.

  • Murderer Behind the Mask (Sundance Now Documentary) Two-Part Documentary Series Premieres Thursday, September 17: When Elaine O’Hara goes missing in the Dublin Mountains in 2012, police assume she has taken her own life. But over a year later, a chance discovery of items found in a lake by a group of fishermen leads to a body of a young woman, sparking an incredible murder investigation, and leading to a very surprising suspect. Graham Dwyer, a respected architect and outwardly devoted family man, has been leading a double life.
  • The Kingdom (Sundance Now Original Film) New Film Premieres Friday, September 25: Set over one sweltering summer on the island of Corsica, teenager Lesia (Ghjuvanna Benedetti) is pulled from her quiet routines into the violent orbit of her estranged father, Pierre-Paul (Saveriu Santucci), a wanted crime figure hiding out in the mountains. As rival factions close in, father and daughter are forced to fight alongside one another. Premiering at the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, the film is a tense, intimate crime drama rooted in family ties and the shadow of legacy.

  • The Sommerdahl Murders Season 7 (Acorn TV Exclusive Series) New Season Binge Premieres Monday, September 7: Detective Chief Inspector Dan Sommerdahl (Peter Mygind) investigates murders in a lovely Danish coastal town with his best friend and partner Detective Superintendent Flemming Torp (André Babikian) and his wife Marianne (Laura Drasbæk), a criminal technician. But Dan’s years of devotion to the job have hurt his marriage, and with Marianne wanting a divorce, Dan discovers his rival for her affections is none other than his best friend. As new dynamics emerge, the team must find a way to handle a new portfolio of cases.
  • Blue Murder Motel Season 1 (Acorn TV Original Series) New Episodes Continue Mondays until the Season Finale on October 12: Married couple Vanessa (Michala BanasNeighboursMcLeod’s Daughters) and Peter Coleman (Brett TuckerThe Residence, Station 19) leave their cop careers behind to run a motel in a sunny beachside New Zealand town, believing their hardest days are behind them.
