Peacock Gives Series Order to Matt Dinniman’s ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ From Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door

Peacock has officially given a series order to Dungeon Crawler Carl, a New York Times bestselling book from author Matt Dinniman. Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door is behind the series. Variety reported in April that the show had landed at Peacock. In early 2025 the project was originally acquired by Universal International Studios, though no streamer or network was attached at that time. Chris Yost is attached to the series as writer and executive producer, and Dinniman is listed as a non-writing co-executive producer.

I’m happy to announce that our friends at Peacock have officially greenlit the Dungeon Crawler Carl television series,” said Dinniman on a recent Instagram post. “Me, Chris Yost, and Seth MacFarlane and his team at Fuzzy Door are all really excited to get to work. In the coming weeks I’ll have more details, and if you’re going to SDCC be sure to catch me and Chris on our DCC panel. In the meantime I wanted to thank you, the fans, for helping make this happen.”

Dungeon Crawler Carl has sold over 10 million copies. Audible and Ace Books are the publishers behind the series, which currently has seven entries. An eighth is expected to release May 12, with Dinniman confirming there will be 10 entries into the series.
