Ever since Helldivers 2 launched back in February 2024, it has seen a shocking surge in popularity far, far higher than developer Arrowhead Game Studios could even dream of. Despite some rough patches, it has still survived as one of the most popular shooter games in recent history. A significant reason for this is due to the number of crossovers the game engages in. Some are unofficial crossovers, with certain weapons and armor sets being reminiscent of other franchises while still being legally distinct. Others are 100% official, with canonically accurate Killzone and Halo weapons and armor being in the game proudly and openly. These official crossovers help boost the game’s popularity even higher while also drawing in fans from those franchises. And now, it looks like managed democracy is going to get a huge influx of fans from a certain grimdark universe set in the 41st millennium.
Arrowhead Game Studios is proud to announce an official partnership between Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40k. This partnership will include a new Legendary Warbond crossing over the two universes, and delivering Imperium of Man gear into the hands of Helldivers. Alas, there’s no solid release date for this warbond. The only information we get from this announcement is that they are going to reveal more “later this year” in 2026. Until then, we can watch the announcement trailer either on YouTube, or just look below:
Helldivers 2 Finally Getting Official Collab with Warhammer 40k
Honestly, this has been a long time coming. Many of Helldivers 2‘s weapons and armor draw strong inspiration from Warhammer 40k already, like the Torcher strongly resembling the Pyreblaster as an example. This partnership just makes the crossover legit. Now we just eagerly await the news later this year to see what Arrowhead are planning to give us for this Legendary Warbond.
For now, we can only speculate, such as thinking about how good Imperial Guard gear would look on a Helldiver. A Lasgun to complement the Scythe and Sickle, perhaps? Maybe even a Meltagun as a short-ranged anti-tank beam weapon? We can all dream, and cross our fingers for our favorite Warhammer 40k weapons to see production by Super Earth.
What do you all think? Are you eager to fight for managed democracy in Imperium of Man gear? Tell us your free thoughts in the comments section below…but not too free, lest you be declared a traitor to Super Earth.
