‘The Accountant 2’ Brings Back Ben Affleck With Jon Bernthal For Another Job [Trailer]

It’s not a usual occurrence that a movie like The Accountant gets a sequel, but here we are. The excellent 2016 film is coming back with Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal for a new job. The Accountant 2 is making its debut at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival and releases in theaters globally on April 25th, 2025.

If you need a refresher on the plot, here’s a synopsis.

Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) has a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to “find the accountant,” Wolff is compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax (Jon Bernthal), to help. In partnership with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried.

Here are some first-look images showing off some action from the upcoming film. It stars Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons. It’s directed by Gavin O’Connor and has a script written by Bill Dubuque.
