Dwayne Johnson and this lovable cast of adventurers are back for the final installment in their action franchise. Jumanji: Open World just dropped a fresh trailer for their last ride together. Jake Kasdan is behind the camera for the latest chapter in this video game saga. Who would have thought that Chris Van Allsburg’s book would have come this far?
It isn’t just Johnson in Jumanji: Open World. He’s joined by Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan once again. One of the great joys audiences get from this franchise is experiencing talented actors immitating each other. The swaps and what lines they fall on are a true treat. Johnson continues to grow as an actor
The Rock has become one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood. But, it feels like he’s never been further away from the squared circle that made him a household name. A modern filmgoer would know him as much for helping Moana journey across the high seas as they would for delivering the SmackDown on a Friday night.
Well, Johnson is embracing different challenges as a performer these days. Yes, he will still link up for franchise entries, and especially when they include his friend Kevin Hart. But, last year’s The Smashing Machine saw him make a big departure. Taking risks is part of the journey. The actor explained how grateful he’s been for these opportunities on Instagram previously.
“In our storytelling world, you can’t control box office results, but what I realized you can control is your performance and your commitment to completely disappear and go elsewhere. And I will always run to that opportunity,” Johnson told fans on Instagram. “It was my honor to transform in this role for my director, Benny Safdie. Thank you, brother, for believing in me. Truth is, this film has changed my life. With deep gratitude, respect, and radical empathy.”

This Christmas, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are reunited in Jumanji: Open World, the hilarious final installment of the globally beloved action-adventure trilogy. Our heroes have escaped the perilous jungles of Jumanji before, but this time Jumanji breaks free of its console, unleashing its chaos into our world.
