‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer Shows Off Peter’s Predicament And Mysterious Villain

Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is swinging into theaters from Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios this July. The film is one of the most anticipated of the year, and we’ve got a brand new trailer to show off! Check out the trailer below.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day comes from director Destin Daniel Cretton, who also directed the amazing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for Marvel. Returning from his previous three films as the character is Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. It also stars Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. The film was written by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers and Justin Kuritzkes.

Here’s the official synopsis from Marvel and Sony Pictures.

It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.

The THS Take – A Strange Place For Marvel At The Moment

We’re entering a massive strech for Marvel at the moment. They’re fresh off Fantasic Four: First Steps from last year and they’ve got Avengers: Doomsday on the horizon. But before that we get a new Spider-Man film with Brand New Day. This new trailer shows off even more of the film and what we’re going to expect. The one thing that it doesn’t shed light on and something that I think we might be waiting until the film comes out is the role of Sadie Sink. She’s not even shown in this trailer and the main villain of the film isn’t also there. Is she playing the villain? Who knows at this point.

We have theories on what her character might hold, but for now we just have the people that Peter is fighting in the film and that’s it. Outside of that, the trailer does a good job of shedding some light on the film though. We get more of MJ and Ned re-meeting Peter and how awkward that must be for Peter.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases in theaters on July 31st, 2026.
