Beginning Tuesday, September 22, 2026, Los Angeles will welcome a new dining destination, the Skywalker Grill. The restaurant will serve as the signature full-service restaurant atop the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. The restaurant is inspired by George Lucas’ famous Skywalker Ranch. It will be open for lunch, dinner, as well as weekend brunch, with hours that extend past the museum’s closing. The restaurant will be open to both museum visitors and the public.

The Design Of Skywalker Grill
Designed by Rockwell Group’s Los Angeles office, Skywalker Grill blends contemporary and Midcentury Modern influences with sculptural architectural forms to create a dining experience that feels both timeless and inviting.
Cherry wood wraps the restaurant’s walls and ceiling in individually crafted panels, creating warmth and texture throughout the dining room, while softly illuminated white onyx Corian surfaces introduce a subtle sense of light and movement. At the center of the space, a sculptural bar anchors the restaurant, surrounded by intimate seating areas designed to foster conversation and connection.
The design extends beyond the main dining room to include an elegant private dining room with switch-glass walls that transition from clear to frosted for added privacy, as well as an outdoor terrace nestled among lush landscaping, offering guests panoramic views of Los Angeles in a relaxed, garden-like setting.
The Lucas Museum celebrates the power of storytelling, and we wanted Skywalker Grill to become part of that narrative. Our design echoes the museum’s craftsmanship and innovation while introducing moments of intimacy, warmth, and surprise. From the glowing Corian surfaces to the handcrafted cherry wood detailing, every element was designed to create a sense of wonder that feels tactile and welcoming.

About the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art
George Lucas and Mellody Hobson co-founded the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art to honor the universal tradition of telling stories through images. Encompassing everything from prehistoric cave paintings to today’s screen art, the Museum explores and celebrates the power of visual storytelling to inspire individuals, give shape to beliefs and ideals, and forge community.
Built in Los Angeles’s Exposition Park, the Museum is housed in a 300,000-square-foot building designed by Ma Yansong of MAD with Stantec to embody the emotional power of narrative art, creating a sense of wonder, possibility, and connection to something larger than ourselves. The building is integrated into a new 11-acre campus including a park designed by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA: a green, multilayered gathering place for local communities and an extraordinary programming resource that brings learning and engagement outdoors.
