Elle gets First Look & Season 2 Early Renewal!
Prime Video is officially bringing audiences back into the world of Legally Blonde with Elle, a brand-new prequel series centered on the teenage years of fan-favorite character Elle Woods. Ahead of Amazon’s May 11 upfront presentation in New York, the streamer released the official teaser trailer and first-look images from the highly anticipated series, while also announcing an early Season 2 renewal before the show has even premiered.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios in association with Hello Sunshine, Elle is set to debut July 1 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The series explores Elle Woods long before she became the iconic Harvard Law student audiences first met in the beloved 2001 film Legally Blonde.
Set in 1995, Elle follows a younger version of the character as she navigates the ups and downs of high school life. From complicated friendships and first love to family struggles and questionable fashion choices, the series explores the experiences that have shaped Elle into the confident and compassionate woman fans know today. The show also places strong emphasis on Elle’s relationship with her mother, highlighting the close family bond that guides her through life’s challenges.
First Look!
Lexi Minetree stars as young Elle Woods, stepping into the role originally made famous by Reese Witherspoon, who also serves as an executive producer on the series through Hello Sunshine. The cast also includes June Diane Raphael as Elle’s mother, Eva, and Tom Everett Scott as her father, Wyatt. Additional cast members include Chandler Kinney, Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Zac Looker, and Amy Pietz, with recurring appearances from James Van Der Beek, David Burtka, Lisa Yamada, and Sharon Taylor.

A Bit Side-Questy, But A Big Moment At The End
The series was created by Laura Kittrell, known for her work on Insecure and High School, and she serves as co-showrunner and executive producer alongside Caroline Dries. Jason Moore, director of Pitch Perfect, directed the first two episodes and also executive-produced.
With nostalgia for Legally Blonde still running strong more than two decades later, Elle looks ready to introduce a new generation to the pink-loving future lawyer while giving longtime fans a deeper look into the character’s early years.
