Following a two year hiatus, the Smiling Friends will officially make their return to Adult Swim this May.
Pim, Charlie, Allan, Glep, and the gang return for more (mis)adventures in their efforts to make the world smile. They even score some high-profile new clients… Get your first look at season 2 of Smiling Friends in the trailer below.
While the official debut of season 2 lands next month, Smiling Friends made a brief return recently to celebrate April Fools’ Day on Adult Swim. (Episodes from season 1 were recreated using puppets.)
The April Fools’ event also debuted the premiere episode of season 2, “Gwimbly: Definitive Remastered Enhanced Extended Edition DX 4K (Anniversary Director’s Cut).” The episode saw Pim and Charlie working with a downtrodden video game icon, trying to land Gwimbly a new game to turn his life around. You can see Gwimbly in the season 2 trailer above.
Smiling Friends comes from co-creators Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel, who also lend their voices to the series’ lead characters. (Cusack voices Pim and Allan, while Hadel voices Charlie and Glep.) Smiling Friends season 2 kicks off at midnight May 12 on Adult Swim. You can also watch episodes the next day on Max.
