Mireille Enos’s Ample Combat Training Couldn’t Prepare Her For Season 5’s Chaos
“For All Mankind” is one of the best sci-fi series on television, and Mireille Enos’ Celia Boyd was a standout throughout Season 5. I spoke with Enos about the character’s dogged determination, the season’s magnificent, chaotic riot, and more. Boyd may on paper be merely a Peacekeeper, charged with maintaining order on the growing colony, but when a body shows up and the powers that be seem disinterested in a proper investigation, Boyd risks it all to get justice. In the process, she reveals nefarious plans and personal betrayal, all in the context of an increasingly tense political situation.
It’s an exciting season full of huge consequences and deep unrest on the powder keg that is the base’s political situation, culminating on a huge conflict pitting dozens of residents against overwhelmed peacekeeping forces. It’s an exciting season that brings strong tension and action to one of TV’s smartest series, and Enos is at the center of it all in Season 5.
